Enough is Enough is an alcohol education program that aims to reduce
the problems associated with drunkenness in the community. By drunkenness,
we mean when a person’s speech, balance, coordination or behaviour
is noticeable affected by alcohol.
- Increase the awareness of the consequences of drunkenness on
the community.
- Increase the community’s ability to reduce public drunkenness
and provide support for safer drinking environments.
- Decrease the community’s acceptance of problematic behaviours
associated with drunkenness.
- Increase the awareness of the role uncontrolled access and consumption
have as major facilitators of drunkenness in the community.
If we want to achieve the long-term prevention of alcohol-related
harm, we need to make changes to our drinking environments to make
them safer. These changes are likely to be more effective if as
a community, we support, understand, and eventually demand them.
Therefore an important part of the program will be to provide information
to the community about strategies that work.
