Finding out about new liquor licence applications in your area

An application for a new liquor licence, other than an Occasional Licence, must be advertised for a specified period, allowing time for the public to obtain more details about the application or the objection process. There are several ways you can find out about new liquor licence applications that are in your area.

Newspaper
One of the most independent ways to keep abreast of applications is to look in the public notices section of the newspaper.

Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor Website

Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor posts licence applications on its website. They are updated fortnightly. Hard copies of applications can be viewed at the Perth Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor.

On-site advertising
It depends on the type of licence but many applicants are required to place a notice in the window of their premises advising the public that they are applying for a liquor licence. Keep an eye out in the community for this signage.
