What can be done about noise coming from a licensed premise?

If you are experiencing noise disturbance from a licensed premise you can:

Step 1:
Call the licensed premise at the time of the disturbance or the next day and ask to speak to the Licensee or Approved Manager to discuss the problem and work out a possible solution. Make a written note of all conversations should you need them for future reference.

If the licensee is not willing to discuss the matter or the problem continues the following steps may help resolve the issue.

Step 2:
You can contact your local Police. The Police are responsible for enforcing liquor laws and can deal with related complaints.

Step 3:
You can contact your local government. Some local governments have a specific alcohol policy and an alcohol management plan that outlines how they will deal with alcohol-related issues.

Step 4:
Contact the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor . Obtain and submit a LLD/9 ‘complaint about noise and disturbance’ form.
